It’s Labor Day Weekend and the turn up (or turn down since these are the last days of summer) are here. Here’s a few things you can do in order to make sure your last holiday weekend until Thanksgiving is as fun and memorable, powered by the good folks at Thrillist.
Fireworks In CityCentre
Date: August 31
Where: Memorial City
CityCentre has been shooting fireworks all summer long and tonight (August 31) they’re ending the summer in a big way with a Summer’s Last Blast Concert and Fireworks Celebration. The live music begins at 7 pm before a 15-minute fireworks blast kicks off at 9:30 pm. Just know, you can’t bring any outside food or drink.
Dates: Friday-Monday, Aug 31-Sept 3
Where: All over Houston
The 2018 Houston Restaurant Weeks ends its 34-day run on Labor Day, this Monday September 3. Since its inception in 2003, the annual, citywide charitable effort has raised over $10 million for the Houston Food Bank. The 2018 edition was spectacular with more than 250 restaurants getting in on the action. Where are the best meals located at? Hit Lucille’s in the Museum District, Papas Bros Steakhouse, Peli Peli, Potente and Rainbow Lodge.
Cost: Dinner menus will run $35 to $45, with lunch and brunch for $20
A Silent Trap Party
Date: Sunday, Sep 2
Silent TRAP parties are a thing and at Mercy on Sunday night, you can go, get a pair of headphones with access to three different DJs and rock out. Colored LED lights will let you get an idea of what your friends are listening to and the DJs will be playing hip-hop, R&B, reggae and top 40 hits until 1 AM — when it turns into a complete trap music party.
Cost: General admission: $10, includes a pair of headphones; VIP admission and bottle service are also available
