After roles in Ice Age 4: Continental Drift and The Other Woman, Nicki Minaj may add to her acting resume as part of the star-studded cast of Barbershop 3. Deadline is one of many sources reporting Nicki is in talks to star in the latest installment of the Barbershop franchise. She’s among a list of names that includes Queen Latifah, Common, Regina Hall and Lamorne Morris. One name familiar to fans of the original Barbershop has already rejoined the cast, as Deadline reports the following:
“After 13 years, Anthony Anderson is returning to Calvin’s, having signed on to appear in Barbershop 3. The ‘Black-ish’ star will reprise his role as JD, the troubled ATM thief whose crimes nearly caused the closure of the titular shop in the original film.”
Nicki Minaj has previously showcased her acting chops on the small screen as a host and performer on “Saturday Night Live.” Malcolm D. Lee—whose previous credits include The Best Man Holiday and Undercover Brother—is reportedly on board to direct Barbershop 3.
