Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper not only have a smash movie on their hands with A Star Is Born, they also have the No. 1 album in the country.
The soundtrack to the latest rendition of A Star Is Born bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week. Selling over 231,000 equivalent album units, the set marks Gaga’s fifth number one this decade alone while giving Cooper his first. The five No. 1s in the 2010s is also a record for female artists as Gaga was previously tied with Taylor Swift with four No. 1s apiece.
A Star Is Born‘s 231,000 equivalent album units is also the biggest first week for a soundtrack since the first Fifty Shades of Grey film back in 2015.
Following A Star Is Born is twenty one pilot‘s new album Trench which comes in at No. 2, selling 175,000 units. Behind them on this week’s chart is Lil Wayne, Lil Baby and Gunna and Eric Church.
