While companies such as Wendy’s have expanded the $4 for $4 and Taco Bell is stretching its $1 dollar menu, one iconic fast food item has suddenly disappeared from the menu!
McDonald’s has quietly taken away one of the greatest deals form its value menu: the Happy Meal! The national $1 $2 $3 menu no longer has the iconic meal which included a toy for kiddos.
The Happy Meal cost around $3 when McDonald’s created its new value menu back in January and was valued as the “biggest bang for your buck” on the $1 $2 $3 menu. But it’s no longer there now.
“The $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu was created to bring our customers better value with the intent to flexibly rotate menu items on and off over time,” McDonald’s representative Andrea Abate told Business Insider. She continued, “Some markets may even offer slight variations to the menu that best fit the preferences of their local customers. While the Happy Meal is no longer part of the nationally advertised $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu, it is still available for $3 at some U.S. restaurants.”
What are we going to miss most about the Happy Meal being gone? The toys of course! There were such great tie ins from movies to tv shows and more with some of the greatest and simplest toys imaginable.
