Days after Khalid dropped his Free Spirit album, he teamed up with country superstar Kane Brown at the 2019 American Country Music Awards!
The pair performed a newly remixed version of “Saturday Nights,” the closing track from Free Spirit but before that, Brown delivered a solo rendition of “Good As You.” The moment Khalid hit the stage, the two navigated their way through the mid-tempo track which originally appeared on Khalid’s Suncity EP.
“All the things that I know that your parents don’t/ They don’t care like I do, nowhere like I do/ And all the things that I know that your parents don’t/ They don’t care like I do, nowhere like I do/ Nowhere like I do,” the two crooned collectively during the hook.
Ironically enough, the collaboration between the two would have never happened if Khalid didn’t ask Kane to join him on the remix … on his wedding day. According to Entertainment Tonight, Khalid propositioned Kane for the track on the day the country star was set to get married! “Khalid came to me actually on my wedding day. I was getting ready for my wedding, and he asked me if I wanted to get on a song with him, so I got two surprises in one day,” Brown said of his big day with wife Katelyn Jae.
Free Spirit is out now. Khalid is coming to Toyota Center on July 12 and tickets are available now!
