Ariana Grande lived up to her headliner status Sunday night at Coachella. The 25-year-old pop star not only became the fourth woman to headline the festival behind Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Bjork, she also brought heavy hitters to assist as she became the youngest artist to ever headline the valley based music festival.
Even on festival grounds you could seemingly tell AriChella was in full effect. An art installation popped up featuring a larger-than-life Starbucks sculpture as well as seven giant pink diamond rings, the latter a more than obvious nod to her smash single “7 Rings.” Fans could even go a step further and order an Acai-ana Grande bowl to eat in the food court.
Among the notable guests? NSYNC as members Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick took the stage to perform with Grande and they tag teamed on “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored.”
“Coachella I’ve been rehearsing my whole mother f–king life for this moment, make some noise for NSYNC,” she shouted before jumping immediately into NSYNC’s classic “Tearin’ Up My Heart” track complete with perfect choreography. Sadly, there was no Justin Timberlake on hand to join his boys as due to scheduling conflicts, he couldn’t make it as he was wrapping up his Man of the Woods tour BUT … he did send everybody a big congrats on IG.
Nicki Minaj joined Ari as the two traded their collaborations, “Side To Side” and “Bang Bang” while rocking color-coordinated outfits. There was zero expense spared into making AriChella look spectacular, even during a tribute to Mac Miller, The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac SHakur with “Mo Money, Mo Problems.” Who showed up for support? None other than Diddy and Ma$e.
Relive the day three stream below, including Ari closing out with “thank u, next.”
