If our Houston Rockets make it to the next round of the playoffs, Rockets fans may hear a new twist on a classic Mobb Deep anthem.

Last month Mobb Deep celebrated twenty years from their classic debut, The Infamous, featuring one of the all time greatest rap tracks “Shook Ones Pt. II”. Another song from that classic album will be featuring during the Western Conference Finals and getting a remix for 2015.

NBA Countdown have recruited The Mobb to remix their song “Survival of the Fittest” for the upcoming 2015 NBA Western Conference Finals. According to ESPN:

Legendary hip-hop group Mobb Deep and ESPN have teamed up to create a special production open for NBA Countdown – ESPN’s NBA pre-game studio show – to debut during pre-game coverage of the 2015 NBA Western Conference Finals, exclusively on ESPN. Mobb Deep will lend a customized NBA remix of their classic track Survival Of The Fittest (1995) to NBA Countdown.

Prodigy states “It is absolutely incredible that, on the 20th Anniversary of the recording of Survival Of The Fittest, the meaning of the song is as relevant as ever. We would like to thank ESPN for choosing our record and for making it the anthem of one of the most important U.S. sports events of the year.” Mobb Deep member Havoc explains. “We were absolutely excited to deliver a remix version of this classic and a visual to accompany the opening of NBA Countdown.

Preview the 2015 version of this dope Mobb Deep classic.
