(FORT LAUDERDALE, FL)– For a second time in four days, a 90-year-old man in apprehended for feeding the homeless in public on Wednesday.

Arnold Abott was given a citation by police officers in Florida because he violated a new city ordinance. According to the Houston Chronicle, Florida is now legally against the public feeding of the homeless.

Abott was led by four uniformed officers, “…to a squad car and away from a food-laden table at a beachfront city park where he had been ministering to the hungry for more than 23 years,” said the Houston Chronicle.

The city ordinance passed Oct. 22 restricts where outdoor feeding sites can be located and require permission of property owners.
