Diddy’s representatives state that the hip hop mogul was acting in a “solely defensive” manner
According to a representative for Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was arrested on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon Monday after an alleged confrontation with a UCLA football coach, is calling media reports on the incident “wholly inaccurate.”
“The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate,” according to the statement issued by Combs’ rep today (Tuesday June 23rd) read. “What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son.”
The statement concluded, “We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed.”
Despite the reps’ comments, Combs’ was initially charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, the UCPD has updated the charges late yesterday to three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery. The weapon used and described in the charges would be a kettlebell, a steel weight used to perform ballistic exercises.
Combs was booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Reception Center, but was released on bond a short time later.
No one was seriously injured during the incident, the school said.
