Fewer things excite music fans more than two of the greatest in their respective genres coming together unexpectedly to make history in the studio and Janet Jackson teaming up with J.Cole most certainly fits that bill.

Just last week, Janet was spotted attending J.Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive concert stop at the Staples center in L.A. and now we know that there was a little more to her visit than just a few memorable photos. The music icon snagged the Dreamville lyricist for the remix to her latest single “No Sleep,” and as you might imagine, the results do not disappoint.

Lacing the sultry track with his signature scruffy vocals, Cole even managed a reference to Janet’s legendary brother Michael with the line:

“For the moment this adrenaline got me feeling like a kid again, butterflies like MJ, hat to fit it in..”

Take a listen to the full song below.

According to Billboard reports, the remix was recorded 2 weeks ago and will appear on Janet’s upcoming album, which is due out in September.
