Born Dedrick D’Mon Rolison in 1971, Mack 10 grew up in Inglewood, CA, and debuted in 1995 with the soundtrack cut “Take A Hit” to the legendary movie Friday. The same year, he came out with his debut self titled album, released by Priority records. The album reached #2 on the Top R&B/HipHop Albums chart.

One of the songs off his debut album, “Westside Slaughterhouse”, was a collaboration with Ice Cube. This spawned the supergroup Westside Connection. Their 1996 platinum album reached great success, hitting #2 on the Billboard 200.

After rocking 4 more solo albums, Mack 10 departed ways with Priority, and signed a one-album deal with Cash Money Records. The album, Bang or Ball, teamed him up with producer Manny Fresh, and produced a fresh new sound for Mack 10.

He has since rocked another solo album, and a reunion Westside Connection album titled “Terrorist Threats”.

Today we salute and wish a Happy Birthday to a West Coast pioneer, Mack 10!
