The son of the late West Coast rapper Nate Dogg, Naijiel Hale was dismissed from the University of Washington football team for disciplinary reasons.
According to a report from The Seattle Times, “Naijiel’s been dismissed from our program,” head coach Chris Petersen said in a press conference. “We need to move forward. Wish Naijiel the best.”
Hale played the entire season at corner-back for the Washington Huskies football team last season. The sophomore says will be playing for another team next year.
“I thank you coach Lake and Coach Peterson (sic) for being there for me and understanding everything that I go through,” Hale wrote on an Instagram post that has since been deleted. “Nobody in this world will understand my life yet I’m still moving forward. I’m so thankful to play and start many games as a True Freshmen in the PAC-12 and those memories will stick with me forever. New chapter ahead.”
