A town in Alabama may no longer get to sag their jeans or wear fitted skirts–after one official received a sign from God telling him to ban the risqué styles.

According to The Daily Beast, Dadeville city councilor Frank Goodman and many other residents of the town (population 3,200) are not fans of the current baggy jeans and tiny skirts trend, and plan to place a ban on both. While going over his new policy changes, Goodman turned to his faith in God for an answer.

What he heard back inspired him.

“Seeing the young boys with pants hanging down, having to walk wide-legged, holding their pants up to keep them from falling down—now it’s gotten real bad,” Goodman said. “It’s something I couldn’t take no more.”

“I prayed and asked God to show me what I should do, and the way I should go about it,” Goodman said. “What would God do? Did God go around doing this?”

“I prayed about this. I know that God would not go around with pants down.”

He called the style “disrespectful,” saying it teaches children to dress the same and prevents adults from getting jobs. His biggest argument was that God wouldn’t walk around in jeans below his waist. Council members agreed and plan to write up the saggy pants ordinance for the next council meeting.

Residents of the town aren’t as thrilled. They’ve taken to social media to denounce the call:

Some residents, however, weren’t buying it. One woman wrote on the local paper’s Facebook page, “This is getting some national coverage and not in a good way. It’s a good thing our city council is such a big joke because a lot of people around the country sure are laughing.”

If the ordinance is approved, a fine will be issued to any resident found guilty of the offense. Short shorts and skimpy dresses may be next on the agenda.
