They are battling over the rights of Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdi by sampling his 1957 song “Khosara Khosara” for the 2001 hit without their permission.

Timbaland and Jay Z’s lawyers claim that Hamdi’s heirs have been compensated repeatedly and that certain elements of the track aren’t even copyrightable, according to Billboard .

No doubt this was a colossal banger on a world wide scale so, we’ll see and keep you posted if in fact the composer has gotten his fair share or still owed.
