The legendary emcee credits Master P for giving him a second chance.

When Master P signed Snoop Dogg to No Limit Records back in 1998 after he left Death Row, it made hip hop fans ask the question, why?

Master P recently explained the signing bolstered Snoop’s career legacy. Snoop Dogg confirms P’s plan with HipHopDX, and says that Master P had a big hand in helping his career.

[I credit] him for saving my life, giving me a second chance, teaching me the business, enabling me to be Snoop Dogg and have fun and live and not have beef and have controversy in my life and allowing me to find my way to happiness,” he said, “That’s what Master P did for me.

Snoop Dogg also spoke about N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton and his depiction in the film.

[It’s] one of the greatest movies ever made,” he said. “[N.W.A.] is a group that deserves to have its story told to the whole world. I grew up a fan of them and being able to watch that movie was an awesome depiction of who they were and what they were.”
