Amos Brown

Veteran Indianapolis radio host and beloved media staple Amos Brown died Friday at his family’s home in Chicago.

Brown was 64-years-old.

Amos Brown served Indianapolis as a broadcaster over the last 40 years. During the past 15 years, he served as the Director of Strategic Research, Community Affairs Director, and talk show host for Radio One’s Indianapolis market on WTLC(AM).

Shortly after he passed, Radio One paid tribute to Brown during a five-hour broadcast.

Alfred C. Liggins, CEO of Radio One, stated, “Amos was an icon of local Indianapolis radio and television and within the African-American community. He was a special and caring leader with an unwavering commitment to keeping his audience informed and brought together corporate, civic and political leaders in thoughtful dialogue about the challenging issues facing our community. This is an immeasurable loss for the Radio One family but we take comfort in his lasting legacy of passionate advocacy, inspirational commentary, political activism and selfless devotion to justice.”

We send our love and prayers to Brown’s family and friends during this difficult time.
