Janet fans will have to control themselves after an announcement on her Instagram page.
Jackson has postponed her Jan. 23rd date in Houston at Toyota Center, along with the rest of her upcoming tour.
“I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” the singer announced on social media. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced.”
The details of Jackson’s medical situation are unknown.
She drew strong reviews for the tour’s 2015 shows, including a rave from Billboard: “Anthems spanning over three decades are sewn together seamlessly,” Eve Barlow wrote in October.
This year’s “Unbreakable” was Jackson’s first album in 7 years and since the death of her superstar brother, Michael, who passed in 2009.
