December 14, 2014 I made a decision that was grossly ignored and long overdue. We joined the Ft. Bend Church. So far it has proved to be the single best choice I have ever made for myself and my family. We are getting feed spiritually and through the marriage ministry my wife are learning the tools to keep our family in tact.
But the biggest thing I have learned in the last year is that it’s the husband role to be the spiritual leader of the home. As men we are designed to lead our homes. Not in a tyrannical manner where you rule with an iron fist. We are supposed to lead by being an example of love and strength. If something is out of order we are supposed to initiate the change in our home to correct it.
This can be overwhelming to most men, especially if you grew up in a home where you didn’t have the best examples of how a man should operate. So let’s start with the first building block.
Every man should not only pray for his family but with his family as well. This is one of the greatest lessons I have learned from Pastor Byron C. Stevenson. Let your wife and children see and hear you praying for them. Lead the prayer at meals and gather your family before bed and pray for their covering. Talk to your family and find out what are the things that are concerning them and include that in your prayer.
Remember all your blessings are tied to how you treat your wife and family. So increase your blessings and take charge by praying for family.
