Well that didn’t take long. Two days after being shutout at home 30-0 by the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wildcard round of the AFC playoffs the Houston Texans have fired their coach.
Well three actually, special teams coordinator Bob Ligashesky, receivers coach Stan Hixon and defensive assistant Anthony Pleasant were all released from the team.
After giving up a 106 yd TD on the opening kick off its no surprise to me that the special teams coach was going to be a fall guy. I don’t know enough about coach Hixon, and Pleasant to make an accurate explanation to their firings.
So that means Bill “put JJ Watt at RB on the goal line” O’Brien is still in charge of the team for another season. Rightfully so for salvaging a 2-5 start and turning into a resectable 9-7 with a playoff appearance to boot.
