A local former NFL star helps tackle cancer by raising awareness and provide support to those battling cancer through Tackles4Cancer.

Dominic “Billy” Austin, former Indianapolis Colts player, created the nonprofit organization to provide tangible assistance to those battling cancer after he was diagnosed with stage-3 non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in May 2014.

“When I was diagnosed, I could either give up or give hope, love and faith,” Austin said. “There are several beneficial organizations dedicated to funding vital research. I created Tackles4Cancer to support patients trying to balance the responsibilities of everyday life while going through painful treatment,” said Austin.

Tackles4Cancer will be at Hughes Hanger on Dec. 22, 7:00 p.m. You can come enjoy cocktails for a cause at the star-studded event and attendees can bid on silent auction items including an Andre Johnson autographed football, multiple NFL team autographed footballs, a private tour of the AT&T Stadium and much more.
