The Houston Super bowl Host Committee Super Bowl LI held a press conference Thursday, (Feb. 11) unveiling the countdown clock at NRG Stadium. Prior to the unveiling, Waltrip High School marching band and their dancers put on a show for the crowd.
Key note speakers included Ric Campo (HSbC Chairman), County Judge Ed Emmett, Harris County Precinct One Commissioner Gene Locke, and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. Campo spoke on the importance of Houston hosting the Super Bowl. He noted the honor would not only provide entertainment, but also economic growth opportunities for the city.
Following the speakers, confetti cannons went off, unveiling the Kickoff Clock. Volunteers can register for Super Bowl LI at here.
As stated by Mayor Turner, Super Bowl LI will be our chance to show the world the diversity, culture, and why Houston is the best choice.
