Queen Latifah’s syndicated daytime talk show was canceled after disappointing ratings for national CBS stations.

Although show cancellations like these are nothing new to Hollywood, Ms. Dana Owens is going out of her way to prove that she meant every word in a heartfelt Facebook message immediately following the final announcement.

According to the E! network, Latifah will also use her own money to pay the show’s production staff so their Christmases and/or Hanukkah’s can be equally merry and happy as everyone else’s. BET is still slated to run episodes all the way through March, but since they are already shot, the various behind-the-scenes members have already completed their end of the bargain so they’ve already been paid for their work.

If you are thinking to yourself, “wow, that’s very generous” you would be correct. You will be hard-pressed to find a anyone to decide to share the wealth to their staff and it also speaks volumes for Latifah’s character. This doesn’t happen often nor does it happen in front of the camera.

Happy Holidays Queen, well done…
