One of Hip-Hop’s most respected emcees makes a promise this year to classic hip hop fans.
The god emcee Rakim has announced plans to perform all of his debut album, “Paid In Full” live in New York at B.B. King’s this summer.
The iconic album released in 1987 and regarded as a pillar hip-hop’s “golden era,” cemented Rakim’s position as one of hip-hop’s most artful lyricists and changing the way future emcee’s approached recording.
The iconic album introduced a level of rhyme complexity and introspective narrative that was scarcely heard at the time.
Since it was released, Paid in Full has earned a prestigious “5 Mics” by the Source Magazine, and Rolling Stone listed it at number 228 on their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Rakim is expected to perform on July 13th and will also play the Brooklyn Bowl on Feb. 27th alongside the Soul Rebels.
