A long list of rappers call Brooklyn home, but Foxy Brown says that she is the “one chick alone” whose been awarded the key to her “city.”
The Ill Na Na rapper would receive the honor from the New York City borough. According to the site Brown, born Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand, was recognized for her contribution to music history.
Brown shared her excitement on Instagram and welcomed all of the love friends shared in video messages.
Displaying a photo of the official citation she received from the office of Borough President Eric Adams, a proud Brown captioned the photo:\ “Wow!!! Only one chick alone got the ‘key’ to her home #BROOKLYN. It’s official BK is mine.
Some of the MC’s closest friends and supporters posted congratulatory messages on her Instagram page. Singer-producer Wyclef Jean serenaded Brown to let her know how much Brooklyn loves her.
Brown also got some love from Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz.
