OutKast fans want something that was offered and turned down by the Atlanta duo.
Immediately after it was announced that the city of Atlanta would host the 2019 Super Bowl, fans of OutKast rallied around the idea of a halftime show performance by the southern legends.
At one time OutKast passed on performing during halftime. Big Boi explained why they decided against it during an interview on ESPN’sThe Dan LeBatard Show, and also expressed his hope that they’ll be invited to perform at the Super Bowl in the future.
“We were supposed to perform at the Super Bowl, but we had two songs, ‘The Way You Move’ and ‘Hey Ya’ and Dre didn’t want to split the songs up,” Big Boi said. “He didn’t want to cut the songs. He wanted to do both songs. They was like, ‘Y’all can’t do it’…We look at it now, we laugh, but hopefully they’ll invite us back.”
