Amber Alerts may soon make their way into your news feed.

Facebook announced their plan for a new tool on Tuesday, National Amber Alert Awareness Day, designed to keep users safe and alert.

“When there is an Amber Alert in the Facebook user’s area, they will see a short post about it as the second item on their news feed. Once they see it, they can share it,” according to Dallas Morning News.

Alerts appearing in news feeds are predicted to increase incident alertness considering the site’s daily traffic. Billboards announcing a missing child work only for those who are driving, but even at that rate some can’t focus on the message because of the traveling speed.

“As much as people are into social media today, and as much time as people spend on their computers with Facebook in front of them, it’s a great step…,”  according to Dallas Morning News.
