Filling the shoes of a hip hop legend would be a tall order for any artist and rapper Rich Homie Quan felt that pressure.
When paying tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. during Lil Kim’s performance on the VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens, as rapper Rich Homie Quan said the pressure got to him as he forgot the lyrics to “Get Money”.
As expected the internet and social media was ruthless about Rich Homie’s show mishap.
The Atlanta rapper apologizes for his performance in an Instagram post and explains that when he came on stage, he experienced “technical difficulties” and “got nervous.”
“I assure you that I never intended to disrespect Biggie Smalls,” Rich Homie Quan says. “I have long respected his work and his contribution to the rap game. I greatly apologize not only to Biggie Smalls, but also to all of my fans and to New York. The city of New York has been nothing but good to me.”
Rich Homie seems sincere enough as he humbly concludes his post.
“I hope you can accept my apology,” he says. “To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity. Rich Homie Baby.”
Lil Kim reposted his Instagram note and said she accepts his apology. She confirmed his claims of the technical difficulties and said she considers him a friend.
