Will Smith kicked it with Steven Colbert on the Late Show and the appearance was amazing on so many levels.

Smith and Colbert talked politics and got into some presidential talk while Will even talked about his own presidential aspirations.

I was thinking about it but, you know, I watched Obama for the last 8 years [and] that’s a hard job,” he said. “I definitely have had the itching. I have lots of views and ideas and sometimes I hear people say things on television and I just want to run against them. Just straight at ’em and knock ’em over. But I think it’s not where my greatest gifts are.”

The Suicide Squad star explained that his wife put an end to any discussion of him getting into politics. But Smith could end up playing President Obama if the Commander-in-chief’s story ever gets to the big screen.

It was another great and eloquent interview by Will, that’s until he gave an impromptu performance during a commercial break.

Jon Batiste and Stay Human played a jazzy rendition of Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s 1991 hit “Summertime.” That got Smith on his feet and join in with the band, peep that below.
