Radio One, Inc. (97.9 The Box, Majic 102.1, Boom 92) have partnered with The Houston Police Department and McDonald’s for an afternoon of fun in the community as they host “The HPD Hangout”. The hangout event takes place on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 3pm – 5pm at McDonald’s (3820 Old Spanish Trail, Houston, TX 7702).

Families are invited to visit the event for free entertainment, giveaways, and a chance to meet and greet officers that work in their community. 97.9 The Box’s Madd Hatta Morning show will be broadcasting live as well as members of the Majic 102.1 and Boom 92 teams.

“We are happy to partner with The Houston Police Department and McDonald’s on an event that will help build relationships between our listeners and Houston Police Officers,” Radio One Houston General Manager, Gary Spurgeon.

McDonald’s will give away 100 ice cream cones to the first 100 kids that attend the event. Kids will be able to sit inside an HPD Helicopter and show car. Radio One stations and McDonald’s will also have interactive gaming and giveaways for guests to enjoy.

“In the recent social climate it’s important that parents, children, and officers interact in a fun environment and have foundation building conversations that can help prevent acts of violence,” Radio One Houston Operations Manager, Terri Thomas,.
