Mayor Anise Parker placed seventh on the annual World Mayor Prize list, organized by the international City Mayors Foundation.
Parker was among the top 10 of the most respective mayors world wide.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized for doing what I love for a city that I dearly love. Being mayor of Houston is the best political job in the world. It provides the opportunity to shape the future of one of the great American cities,” said Parker reported Culture Map.
Houston’s mayor was the only American to make the cut.
