Ed Lover and Monie Love sat down to chat with Cheo Coker, creator of Marvel’s latest work and popular collaboration with Netflix, “Luke Cage.” Also in his company were music producer Adrian Younge and A Tribe Called Quest‘s Ali Shaheed Muhammad, who were both in charge of creating the soundtrack and score for the show. Ali explains the simple way by which he and Adrian ended up getting recruited by Cheo to do the music for “Luke Cage.”

Ali says he and Adrian were working on an album together- entitled “The Midnight Hour” -when Cheo asked them to sign onto the Luke Cage project. They recalled putting that project on hold to join the creative team, and Cheo explained how he ended up being the one tasked with bringing the Luke Cage series to life.
