Last month, the “Gangster’s Paradise” emcee was arrested for a gun charge after an incident at LAX.
An update on the story, from The Hollywood Reporter, stated that he has been charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon. The September 17th incident at LAX busted Coolio with a loaded, stolen firearm by security.
One of the men in Coolio’s entourage initially attempted to claim responsibility for the weapon, but it was quickly discovered the gun was really Coolio’s, according to the report.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office indicated that Coolio also has previous convictions in 2001 and 2009 of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and drug possession. If found guilty the rapper could be handed a sentence of up to three years in state prison.
We will update you on this story as it develops.
