Jasmine Guy was filling in for Monie Love in-studio, when she discussed where she was and how she felt when she first heard Biggie‘s lyric, “Jasmine Guy was fly, Mariah Carey‘s kinda scary,” in his song “Just Playin’” She explains that she was never so much attuned into the rap scene as much as she was to R&B, and how that lyric made it to her via one of her “A Different World” cast mates.
