Earlier this year, when Phife Dawg died, the hip-hop community was struck with grief over the loss of a figure who was a part of one of the most influential and pivotal hip-hop groups of all time: A Tribe Called Quest. Soon after his death, an appropriate street in the group’s native borough of Queens was named in his honor.
