Jose Jesus Mendoza, better known as Flatline, was killed on Friday, Feb. 20 in Corpus Christi.
The Texas native was shot at a Cos Way Bait & Tackle at 2 a.m. according to Police. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and when police arrived on the scene the rapper was found sustaining multiple gunshot wounds He was then pronounced dead.
An unidentified 29 year-old suspect turned himself in not long after the incident with a head injury. He currently is under police custody.
Flatline was a popular local rapper who had worked with numerous independent underground rappers such as Kevin Gates. His 2013 video for “ Where Did I Go Wrong” has reached over 478,000 views on his YouTube channel.
Two candle light vigils were held by family and friends over the weekend in memory of the rapper. The rapper leaves behind two kids, one of which includes his 10-year old son, Trey who was diagnosed with Autism.
