The 2017 Teen Choice Awards, took place last night and Miley Cyrus was one of the many celebs to win. However, Cyrus dropped a bomb when she announced she would not be making it to the show. She was set to accept the highest honor, #TheUltimateChoiceAward.
Presenter Victoria Justice took to the stage to make the announcement early in the show setting off gasps and boos from the audience. In a post on her Instagram, Miley blamed her absence on an “unrealistic schedule” she had made and apologized,”I want to say thank you from the very bottom of my heart for presenting me with #TheUltimateChoiceAward. I am beyond bummed I couldn’t make it to the show as I had every intention of being there to accept and celebrate this honor!”
She also shared she’d be dropping a new single called “Younger Now” on Friday.
“I’m sooooooooo EXCITED to share it with all of you! I hope to always make people smile and shine light thru my work!”
Her upcoming album is also titled Younger Now and is slated for release, Sept. 29.
