Earlier this afternoon (Wednesday, March 11th) Miami police descended upon the Beach home of Lil Wayne after “numerous” shots were reported at or near the residence.

After Miami police surrounded the rapper’s home for more than an hour, a Police spokesperson commented on the situation: “At 12:40 in the afternoon we received a call on a non-emergency line. The individual advised us he had shot four people [at the residence] and requested police assistance. At this point we have not located any victims.”

Rodriguez specified that the SWAT team has not entered Wayne’s residence. The Miami PD acknowledged that “swatting” — making an emergency prank call to police — is a possibility.

Young Money tweeted that Lil Wayne is “okay” and was not at his home during “alleged events.”

After an update of the situation, it seems that the episode may have been a hoax, according to police.
