After premiering the video during the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, fans have been scrambling to decode the video. The video takes aim at her portrayal in the media, ex Calvin Harris, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Katy Perry.
Another theory is over the visual similarity of the dance break scene to Beyonce’s “Formation” video. It’s speculated to be a reference to Kanye West exclaiming “…Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time!”
