The Weeknd has decided to drop his relationship with the huge fashion brand H&M after coming across a photo on their site of a black boy wearing a sweatshirt that says “Coolest monkey in the jungle”.

From The Weeknd’s tweet, you can see how offended he was by this ad and he has decided to drop his partnership with the company.

The Weeknd has been working with the company since last year and has a collaboration with them under is XO brand.

H&M has released the following statement,

“We understand that many people are upset about the image. We, who work at H&M, can only agree. We are deeply sorry that the picture was taken, and we also regret the actual print. Therefore, we have not only removed the image from our channels, but also the garment from our product offering globally. It is obvious that our routines have not been followed properly. This is without any doubt. We will thoroughly investigate why this happened to prevent this type of mistake from happening again.”

Diddy posted the following photo on Instagram in support of The Weeknd’s decision to cut ties.
