The World’s Championship of BBQ Contest that kicks off the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo also known as the Rodeo BBQ Cookoff starts tonight (February 22, 2018) at NRG Stadium and continues until Saturday night.  More Than 250 teams will compete to find out who has the Best BBQ on the planet.

Tickets allow entrance into NRG Park for the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest and includes a complimentary sliced barbecue brisket plate, access to live music areas and admission to the carnival.

Purchase tickets for entrance into NRG Park for the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, which kicks off the arrival of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ each year. Tickets includes a complimentary sliced barbecue beef sandwich plate, access to live music areas and admission to the carnival. Tickets do not include access to private cook-off tents. Tent passes are not for sale and are distributed by the Bar-B-Que teams.

  • Children age 2 and under do not require a ticket.
  • Onsite ticket sales end at 10:30 p.m. daily during the event, and online sales end at 9:30 p.m. daily during the event.
  • Adult (13 & over: $15) | Child (3 – 12: $5) | age 2 and under are free
  • Concerts at Miller Lite stage at The Garden
  • Admission to Carnival
  • Admission to Saloon & Chuck Wagon
  • Complimentary sliced brisket, beans and chips

NOT INCLUDED: access to private tents – If you have a private tent pass, you must also have a grounds ticket. Tent passes are not for sale and are distributed by the Bar-B-Que teams

Here’s some tips if you plan on attending the Rodeo Cookoff.

1)Cell Phone services is spotty so if you go with a group, pick a designated meeting spot in case you get lost.

2)Take an Uber.  Don’t drive if you don’t have to. Parking and traffic gets hectic and it’s really easy to get picked up an dropped off taking an Uber

3)The Private Tents in the Blue lot are invitation only. You can’t purchase tickets at the tents but you can still go to the complimentary BBQ Tent and Main Miller Lite Stage for performances and the BBQ judging.

4)Be prepared to smell like BBQ and smoke for the next week.
