Fans across the globe have taken to social media to remember Selena Quintanilla. On this day in 1995, the 23-year-old Queen of Tejano was shot and killed, leaving a hole not only in the hearts of Tejano fans but everyone who ever experienced Selena’s songs, performances and more.
In her hometown of Corpus Christi, fans are gearing up for Fiesta de la Flor, the Selena Quintanilla festival which happens every year in April. Many have made a pilgrimage to the museum created in her honor. Tribute bands have performed this week and many are making their way to Rooftop Cinema Club next month to watch the 1997 film based on her life starring Jennifer Lopez.
