President Obama and Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland will stop by the University of Chicago Law School on Thursday to address the significance of filling the vacancy on the Supreme Court.

Marquez Tolbert, 24 and Anthony Gooden, 23 have third degree burns as a result of Gooden's mother's boyfriend throwing boiling hot water on the couple because they're gay.

The attack happened two days before Valentine's Day in Riverdale, Georgia. Marquez Tolbert, slept over at the apartment of Anthony Gooden's family. The couple was later violently awoken by Martin Blackwell, the boyfriend of Gooden's mother, who allegedly poured scalding water on them as they slept, the report says.

"The Falcons coach, one of the coaches, was like, 'So do you like men?'" Apple said. "It was like the first thing he asked me. It was weird."

Senior U.S. District Judge Hayden Head of the Southern District of Texas, condemned the men for the brutal attack, saying they "abandoned their humanity to the viciousness of animals."
