As of today, Uber has announced a 180 day plan that will benefit their drivers and help make their jobs less stressful.
One big part of that plan was adding a tipping option.
Houston, Seattle and Minneapolis will be the first cities to allow tipping through the mobile app, and it will be available to the rest of the country by the end of July.
In addition to tipping, some changes were made to benefit Uber drivers specifically.
If a rider cancels a ride more than two minutes after booking, the driver will still be compensated for the ride. Previously, drivers only got compensated for rides cancelled after 5 minutes.
Also, if the driver has to wait more than 2 minutes for their rider, Uber will compensate.
